Volunteer Opportunities
There are several places in and around the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission for you to volunteer. We are currently in need of volunteers who can serve in the following roles.
Thrift Store Associate
Must be available to volunteer during hours of operation
Must be available to volunteer during hours of operation
Monday-Saturday 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
There is an estimated 6-8 hours of work available each week.
Large Appliance Repairman
Needed to work on various appliances
Needed to work on various appliances
A volunteer is needed to help us with the repair of donated large appliances to be sold in the Thrift store.
Media Center Monitor for New Life Center
Qualifications: Must be male, have knowledge of MS Windows/Office
Must be age 25 or older, Needed Monday-Friday from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM
These volunteers are needed to assist clients with their resumes and other correspondence, as well as to help them with basic computer skills.
Driver
These volunteers must be at least 21, male, have valid driver's license, and clean background check. These volunteers work weekday mornings using our vehicle to collect donated bakery goods, and transport clients to appointments.
Building Maintenance and Cleaning in Foodservice
A volunteer group is needed several times a year to help with deep cleaning in the Foodservice Department.

Preparation of Meals
We welcome groups from restaurants, churches, civic clubs, or businesses that will prepare a meal off site, bring it into the Mission (or we can pick up the meal), and serve it to approximately 100 residents.
